Grupo Liberdade has been an ongoing project inspired by the vision of musical director Poranguí combined with the gifts and talents of an outstanding diverse community of musicians & dancers across Arizona. Since 2004, the group has gone through many transformations that have helped it evolve to the professional ensemble it is today. Dedicated to creating music to move the soul & body, this project brings together diversity on all levels with an incredible interactive & pulsating show.
The group also offers custom performances for community, corporate & private events in addition to experiential workshops & private lessons under the direction of Poranguí. Our ensemble can include different configurations including a compliment of beautiful Samba Dancers in full Carnaval costume as well as Capoeira & Maculelê demonstrations through our partnership with the SambAZ dancers and Capoeira Brasil Arizona. We are dedicated to inspiring creative collaboration, cultural diversity and addressing the incredible need for community focused music & dance in the Desert Metropolis and beyond.
